If you are relocating to Atlanta and aren't sure where to begin the search for a new home, here's a quick tip...

Interstate I-285 makes a full circle around the city and people often talk about living "inside the perimeter" and "outside the perimeter". As a matter of fact, this is just a common topic for discussion that most people use the acronymns, ITP and OTP. The ITP homes typically are more expensive because of the proximity to Downtown Atlanta, Buckhead and several other popular districts, as well historic districts, small city neighborhoods and shorter commute times. For those who live OTP, they usually own a larger home and/or lot and enjoy a suburbia (vs city) feel.

Metro Atlanta spans multiple counties, but if you want to live within 45 minutes of Downtown Atlanta, you should focus on Fulton County, Dekalb County and Gwinnett County. South Forsyth is also growing in popularly, but is at least 45 minutes without traffic.
